About Living in Time   – written 1985-86, published in 1987

From the blurb of the 1987 Gateway Books edition:

This book opens up still-new territory in working with inner time and changing times, using astrological symbology to understand and generate harmony within ourselves and with our world. It is great for beginners, dabblers and adepts in astrology, easy to follow and starting from basics. This is a back-to-the-roots approach, directly applicable to real life, written for any aware person, whether or not specifically interested in astrology.

•  Lunar cycles, solstices, equinoxes, the seasons and the ancient fire festivals
•  Natural religion, world transformation and the flow of time
•  Power-points in time and quantum leaps
•  Personal growth and changes
•  Stresses the experiential, not the theoretical

Preface to this edition

The 1987 edition of this book went out of print within a few years. It was much appreciated by people who were not highly adept in astrology, but who were interested in seasons and periodicities, often because of a love of nature. Each year during the 1990s I received requests to republish it, but it didn't feel quite right – and I had moved on to other things. Then, in Year 2000 I found myself in a state of profound change (Pluto square Sun and Chiron return!), and started reviewing my past work. Sig Lonegren, the dowser and student-teacher on sacred space, contacted me one day wanting to know what he could do about making the book a recommended course-book for a year-long course he was running with his colleague Patrick MacManaway. Suddenly, I was revising the book for re-publication!

For this 2000 edition, I have not fundamentally altered the book. Most of the changes have simply been to improve readability. So many of the examples given in this book relate to the 1980s, and more recent examples have not been given. Little has been added or taken away. Two things have changed noticeably since 1987: many more people have become attuned to natural energies, and most astrologers have moved onto computers. Otherwise, the book stands well today, as written in 1985-86.

My thanks and appreciation go to Alick Bartholomew for publishing the first edition, and to Sig for kicking me into action to produce the second edition. Also to January Jane for bearing with me in 1985-86 when I first wrote it, and to Sheila Martin for doing the same in 2000! It is dedicated also to Heather and Barry Hoon, who have done so much to encourage my advancement in Internet publishing. And to you, dear reader, for giving this work significance by reading and making use of it!
