The local community in Glastonbury
Glastonbury's social makeup is unusual for a small provincial town - it's remarkably cosmopolitan, yet it's not a big city. It's a funny combination of a small Somerset town with parochial concerns and a nationally and globally significant pilgrimage place.

This mixed population and social diversity sometimes makes for local conflicts and sometimes it brings the town together in remarkable expressions of shared interest. Also, what once were regarded as problems can turn around to become benefits.
