A big debate is on about Glastonbury's weekly market. For twenty years it was located in St John's car park behind the High Street. Successful in the 1980s, it then declined. In 2005 it moved to Market Square - traffic was removed on market days.

This revitalised the market and helped community spirit. But trade dropped off significantly for shop-owners during market day (Tuesday) - for everyone except cafe owners. So a choice lies ahead.
